Update on Life and such

Dear e'erybody!

So this blog has basically fallen by the wayside. To be honest, its not been very bloggy at all. I thought I'd take a moment to update you on what's happening in our lives at this point in time.

We are now nearly exactly 6 months into our engagement! (We will be tomorrow on the 10th. : D ) We are learning countless lessons, navigating endless busyness, planning a million details, and thoroughly enjoying this wonderful and hectic time. God's grace abounds.

Susie is poised to graduate in a few weeks! Its amazing to see how far she's come and the skills and knowledge she's acquired. Academics and clinical experiences have been quite demanding at points, but she's handled them well and is turning into quite the exceptional nurse. We are both very excited and eager for her final exam to be turned in. Just recently (last Friday) she finished her last 12 hour shift for her Nursing Transitions rotation - where she was paired with a nurse preceptor and worked alongside her. In time Susie's been able to take all of the patients from her preceptor and manage them effectively and skillfully. There's plenty to learn, but she's done wonderfully!

I've been keeping busy at work...running testing to complete responses for our dialogue with the FDA. Essentially, my days are full of running tests, attending meetings, writing protocols and drafting reports - etc... Its definitely keeping me quite busy. Tonight I left work at about 8 p.m. - later than most nights, but earlier than some.

Other than that, Susie and I have been working on plans and preparations for the upcoming wedding! There are so many details that I never knew existed! : D There's plenty to do, but it is coming together.... Thank you everyone that's offered to help and been helping...we would be floundering about without you! Recently, the gift registry and invitations have been getting a lot of attention...

To keep things more interesting, my lease is up at the end of May (a purposeful move) and I will be moving to a new apartment soon. That's been a major focus as of late, as we seek to locate, evaluate, and sign for a new place. Recently, I was able to get in touch with my current landlord (a protracted struggle). He's a nice enough guy, but nearly impossible to get ahold of at points. Thankfully, we were able to communicate after weeks of nonresponse on his part. As Susie and I keep searching, please pray that God would guide us to the right place and help us in our decision. Its certainly exciting!

Other than that, we've had the chance to visit family recently, spending a weekend up North and heading East this weekend for Easter. Little niece, Emily Hughes, will soon be turning one, Josh will be 20, and I will get a chance to celebrate with them, yay! James and Leah Apgar will be hosting a wonderful Easter meal at their house.

Alrighty, I think that's all for tonight. We'll try to post more soon...I want to add some info on the gift registry stuff, but that will have to wait for another time and another place...
