Graduation!

Dear friends and family,

This past weekend was highly eventful... Susie is officially finished with her four years of school! It was a very exciting and wonderful time, and Susie's siblings and parents and my parents and some of my siblings were out as well! We had a lovely weekend complete with a Friday night trip to Station Square where Jim treated us to dinner at Buca Di Beppo's, an Italian restaurant in Station Square, in honor of Susie and her academic achievement. We had a nice meal complete with the most authentic, and delicious, gelato I've had here in the US so far. (Really was quite good!)

Thank you so much to all of the people that worked hard to put on the shower on Saturday morning - that made long trips to be there - and that blessed Susie (and I) so kindly with thoughtful and extravagent gifts. Thank you and thank you to each one that made the shower so special.

While Susie was busy, Ryan arranged for a videogame fest with some of the groomsmen...we had a grand old time fragging bad guys and occasionally each other - when the level was almost beaten and there wasn't too much else to do. Both Dad and Jim were there and they alternately took naps and made smart comments about videogames and our lack of strategic manuevering on the battlefield, etc...

There was a very nice ceremony honoring the School of Nursing graduates held at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial building. Each graduate's name was read and they recieved a pin and a small candle as a continuation of a tradition dating back to 1943. There were like a million pictures taken...

After a reception full of dessert and snacks, we took a trip to a local restaurant/bar named "Fuel N Fuddle" for a little bit more food...its a classic staple for anyone that's attended PITT.

Sunday afternoon, at 1 pm, the main commmencement cermony took place...and took place....and kept taking place....and..... It was long but exciting! We were all thrilled to see Susie graduate and once again, millions of pictures were taken!

That pretty much brings us up to today - Monday I'm back into the swing of things with work and Susie and is working away at some of the wedding planning stuff....

For now, I think I'll leave you all with the thought that, God is faithful and kind. Susie has learned so much about life, nursing, and especially trusting and relying on God through her 4 years at Pitt. "I'm so grateful for all that God has done, and how He has blessed Susie's hard work!
